Ludwig van Beethoven is often described for his toughness, willpower, and struggles. Still, if we look closely at his music, it also abounds in humanity, genleness, humour, and joy. In this composition, Beethoven confessed his love of life, which helped to resolve difficulities and conflicts. By the 1790s, Joseph Haydn was an elderly composer, but his creative powers had not diminished; he was at the peak of his career in many ways. The ,,Theresa" mass, written in 1799, also dates from this period and although it does not employ a vast orchestra, is full of solemnity, joie de vivre, and strength. It abounds in virtuso compositional elements, devious techniques, unique timbres, and musical light-and-shadow interplay. The music exhibits an optimistic and happy composer at the height of his powers.
