BARBARE TATARADZE

Barbare Tataradze was born in 2003 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and began playing the piano at the age of five. From an early age, she demonstrated remarkable musical talent and quickly established herself as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation.

She has performed in numerous concerts organized by the SOS Talents Foundation and has appeared at prestigious venues around the world, including the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, the United Nations Hall in Geneva, Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Théâtre du Jeu de Paume in Aix-en-Provence, and Casino Bern.

As a soloist, she has collaborated with several distinguished orchestras, including the Georgian Sinfonietta under the direction of Daniele Belardinelli, the Symphonic Orchestra of Kaunas (Lithuania), and the Mariinsky Orchestra at the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Her performances have been broadcast by Mezzo TV, Radio Classique, and Medici TV.

Awards and Distinctions:

  • Special Jury Prize at the Frederic Chopin Competition in Tbilisi (2010)
  • First Prize at the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in the Netherlands (2015)
  • Second Prize and Laureate title at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar, Germany (2017)
  • Grand Prix, along with the Special Prizes for Best Artistry and Best Performance of a Virtuoso Work, at the T. Akhobadze International Piano Competition in Tbilisi (2018)
  • First Prize at the “Stars at the Rhine” Concerto Competition in Basel, Switzerland (2019), followed by a highly successful solo recital
  • Second Prize and the Prize for Best Virtuoso Performance at the Nordic Junior Piano Competition (online edition, Norway, 2021)
  • One of the two finalists at the French Riviera Masters Competition in Nice, France, and performance with the Nice Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House Grand Hall (2025)

Masterclasses and Festivals:

  • Participated in the International Piano Academy Eppan in 2017 and 2019, studying with Andrea Bonatta and receiving the First Special Prize on both occasions
  • Participated in the Goslar Piano Academy in 2019 and attended masterclasses with Professor Arie Vardi
  • Took part in the Tsinandali Festival in 2022
  • Participated in the Lieven Foundation Piano Festival during 2023–2024, performing in masterclasses and concerts at the Steinway & Sons Showroom in Vienna
  • Studied with renowned pianist Lilya Zilberstein at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) during this period
  • Performed with celebrated Czech violinist Václav Hudeček and the Youth Orchestra of the Prague Conservatory at an international music festival in Prague (2024)
  • Performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 at the Batumi Black Sea Music and Art Festival and at the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire (2024)
  • Participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianist Eliso Virsaladze at the Telavi International Music Festival (September 2024)

Studies

Barbare Tataradze is currently studying at the V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire with Professor Lali Sanikidze. She is also continuing her studies at the Conservatoire Rachmaninoff in Paris under the guidance of Professor Rena Shereshevskaya.

She is celebrated for her captivating stage presence, refined musicality, and remarkable technical ease.
